Saxifraga stolonifera produces sprays of starry white flowers on fine stems that float above round, scalloped leaves that are attractively marbled with silver above and have purplish red undersides. Also known as Strawberry Geranium or Strawberry Begonia, this perennial makes a great evergreen ground cover. It spreads via runners similar to strawberry plants, hence the common names. Plants will also self-sow, but it is not typically aggressive.
Saxifraga stolonifera prefers light shade to shade and well-drained soil. It is heat and humidity tolerant and will withstand drought, once established.
