Viola x koreana 'Heartthrob' has bright green heart shaped leaves with large burgundy centers and lightly serrated edges. Its early spring blooms are violet pink, starting before the new leaves appear, but the real show is the foliage. A perennial Violet, Viola 'Heartthrob' forms clumps and does not self sow. It is nice edging a shady border or in containers.
Viola x koreana 'Heartthrob' prefers partial to full shade and moderately moist soil that should occasionally dry out.
