Teucrium chamaedrys 'Summer Sunshine' is a short, mounding sub-shrub with small, glossy golden green leaves that have serrated edges. It produces purple-rose flower spikes in summer. Teucrium chamaedrys 'Summer Sunshine' spreads by underground rhizomes, but more slowly than the species. Also known as Germander, its evergreen foliage may be pruned for use as a knot garden border. It is also a nice bright filler between shrubs or other perennials.
Teucrium chamaedrys 'Summer Sunshine' prefers full sun to light shade and neutral to alkaline, moist, well-drained soil. It is tolerant of coastal conditions. Spreads via underground rhizomes, but more slowly than the species.
