Rudbeckia triloba 'Blackjack Gold' has charming black-centered, golden yellow daisy blooms that appear for weeks late in the season. 'Blackjack Gold' is a sturdy multi-branched upright plant that is shorter, longer blooming and more perennial than the species. It is lovely for cutting as well as attractive to native bees and butterflies.
Rudbeckia triloba is native to a large portion of the United States from Minnesota to Vermont, south to Georgia and westward into portions of the Great Plains. It is naturally found in grasslands, prairies and savannas, at the edges of creeks and riverbanks, and disturbed areas such as abandoned fields, roadsides and railroad right of ways.
Rudbeckia triloba 'Blackjack Gold' prefers full sun and average to moist, well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant, once established.
