Description

Platycodon grandiflorus 'Sentimental Blue' is a dwarf variety with large, clear blue, star-shaped flowers and bluish green foliage. Its puffy round buds lend it the common name of Balloon Flower. 'Sentimental Blue' has good heat tolerance.

This perennial tends to be late to break dormancy in spring. It is usually long blooming, if deadheaded. Platycodon may self-sow.

Platycodon grandiflorus 'Sentimental Blue prefers full sun to light shade and average to moist soil that must be well-drained.
