Physostegia virginiana 'Pink Manners' is a clumping, upright plant with deep green glossy foliage. It is topped with spires of light rose-pink blooms on four-sided stems. Physostegia 'Pink Manners has much shorter rhizomes and is much slower spreading than the species. 'Pink Manners' has excellent branching and good repeat bloom, if deadheaded.
Also known as Obedient Plant, Physostegia virginiana is a perennial that is native to most of the eastern two thirds of North America, where it is usually found in moist sites including prairies, woodland edges, meadows, thickets and seeps.
Physostegia virginiana 'Pink Manners' prefers full sun to light shade and moist to wet acidic soil. It can tolerate clay soil. Avoid too much shade or overly rich soil. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
