Deep lavender-blue blooms over low mounds of very narrow dark green foliage in late spring. Self-sows. Deer resistant, but a favorite of rabbits. Native to eastern 2/3 of U.S. north into Canada.
Prefers humus-rich, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant, but maintain soil moisture for best appearance. Cut back hard after flowering if powdery mildew is a problem.
