Description

With super dark, evergreen foliage and pinkish-white flowers that glow in contrast, 'Onyx and Pearls' is one of the most striking varieties of Penstemon available. Commonly called Beardtongue, 'Onyx and Pearls' is a cultivated variety of a US native plant that's been bred for its improved form, as well as its heat- and humidity-tolerance.

Penstemon digitalis is native to prairies, fields, and wood margins of the eastern United States. In the garden, it makes a reliably low-maintenance and drought-tolerant plant that native pollinators delight in.

Plant Penstemon 'Onyx and Pearls' Beardtongue in sandy, gritty, or average soils. It would make an excellent addition to cut flower and pollinator gardens.

We ship via UPS or USPS (the Post Office), and their ship rates are automatically generated through our site. We do not profit on shipping costs. We are working with these providers to get our customers the best rates possible.

All ship times are subject to change if extreme weather conditions are present here at the nursery or at the shipping destination.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.

We are currently not able to ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and outside of the US.
