Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose' has deep green, arching foliage with arching plumes of rose-pink flowers from early to late summer. 'Karley Rose' is a clump former that is more vigorous than the straight species. Its foliage turns warm beige in fall and persists into winter. This a warm season grass that emerges in the spring.
'Karley Rose' prefers full sun to light shade and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. It is tolerant of clay. Plants benefit from being cut back to 3" or 4" in late winter before the new growth emerges.
