Description

A dense attractive shrub with a shaggy rounded form. The woody stems gain peeling mahogany colored bark with pale orange inner bark as they age. Clusters of bright yellow flowers bloom above the narrow foliage in summer. This North American native attracts scores of pollinators, butterflies and songbirds. It thrives in full sun with moist to dry soil. Deer resistant.

Adaptable to drought, brief flooding, salt, barren rock, sandy or clay soils.
