A very small Hosta, Plantain Lily 'School Mouse' has rounded wavy leaves of blue green with wide, golden edges. The leaves form a twisted and turned little clump. Hosta 'School Mouse' produces 14" scapes of lavender blooms in early midsummer. Very cute in containers as well as edging the border or in a mixed grouping of little Hosta.
Hosta 'School Mouse' prefers partial to full shade and moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Hosta will grow in ordinary garden soil and withstand drought, but they are most beautiful when provided consistent moisture. They will tolerate clay soil and can be grown under black walnut trees.
Plantain Lily are classic perennial shade garden plants that will also grow well in containers.
