Description

Hosta 'Patriot' has strong white margins on dark green heart-shaped leaves and keeps it good looks all season. It is topped by lavender flowers on long scapes in August. Hosta 'Patriot' is a sport of work horse Hosta 'Francee'. 'Patriot' was named American Hosta Grower Association's 1997 Hosta of the Year and continues to maintain its popularity.

Also known as Plantain Lily, Hosta will grow in ordinary garden soil and withstand drought, but they are most beautiful when provided with ample moisture and organic matter. Can tolerate clay soil. Can be grown under black walnut trees.

Plantain Lily are classic perennial shade garden plants that will also grow well in containers.
