Hosta 'Curly Fries' is a miniature Plantain Lily with heavily rippled, long narrow leaves (6"x1") with good substance and slightly shiny top surfaces. Chartreuse early season color becomes gold by mid-summer and then creamy yellow. Lavender blooms appear on 18" purple scapes in July.
Hosta will grow in ordinary garden soil and withstand drought, but they are most beautiful when provided with ample moisture and organic matter. Can tolerate clay soil. Can be grown under black walnut trees.
Plantain Lily are classic perennial shade garden plants that will also grow well in containers.
