Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears' is a miniature Plantain Lily with small blue-green leaves only two inches across. They form small mounds topped by 8" stems of lavender blooms in summer. Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears' leaves hold their color well into summer and new ones continue to unfurl throughout the season. Great for fairy gardens, troughs and mixed containers, 'Blue Mouse Ears' was named 2008 Hosta of the Year by the American Hosta Growers Association.
Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears' prefers partial to full shade and moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Hosta will grow in ordinary garden soil and withstand drought, but they are most beautiful when provided consistent moisture. They will tolerate clay soil and can be grown under black walnut trees.
Plantain Lily are classic perennial shade garden plants that will also grow well in containers.
