Helianthus salicifolius 'First Light' Sunflower has showy, yellow daisy flowers on tall plants of dark green, needle-like foliage. Helianthus 'First Light' produces masses of blooms throughout its growing season. Helianthus salicifolius is native the central U.S. and parts of the east coast. It is attractive to butterflies and makes an excellent cut flower.
Helianthus 'First Light' prefers full sun and average to moist, well-drained soil. This long-blooming perennial is drought tolerant once established. It makes a great companion with grasses, Hemerocallis, or Agastache.
