More commonly known as Wild Strawberry, Fragaria virginiana has delicately scalloped leaves and small, white flowers in spring. Birds love to eat the tiny, red strawberries that follow. 

This eastern US native wildflower spreads by runners into a polite, unobtrusive ground cover. Fragaria virginiana Wild Strawberry is a cool season perennial that grows best in spring and fall, and may go dormant in summer. It thrives in moist, well-draining soil and sun to light shade.

    Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.
