Eupatorium (Eutrochium) dubium 'Little Joe' produces large clusters of fluffy, mauve flowers on narrow plants in late summer to early fall. Eupatorium 'Little Joe' has coarse, crinkled leaves on tall purple green stems. Eupatorium dubium Joe Pye Weed is a long-blooming perennial and major butterfly magnet. Eupatorium 'Little Joe' will not flop in the garden like taller varieties.
Eupatorium (Eutrochium) dubium is native along the East Coast from S. Carolina to Nova Scotia.
Eupatorium dubium 'Little Joe' prefers full sun to light shade and moist soil. This garden perennial will tolerate wet, boggy conditions, clay soil, and coastal conditions. Joe Pye Weed is great for naturalizing in damp areas such as meadows, ditches and rain gardens, but will also grow well in average conditions.
