Description

Dianthus hybrid 'Paint the Town Magenta' is a very early blooming, heat tolerant plant with loads of single, deeply fringed magenta blooms. Compact mounds of glaucous blue foliage make an attractive, evergreen perennial edging when not in bloom. Shear plants hard after early bloom for best fall rebloom.

Dianthus 'Paint the Town Magenta' prefers full sun and very well-drained soil.

Care and Growing Tips

When the blooms are all or mostly spent, trim the plant back by about 1/3 of its size. This will refresh the foliage and encourage rebloom.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.
