Description

Dianthus 'Frosty Fire' has fragrant, semi-double blooms of brilliant red. The red hot flowers of 'Frosty Fire' glow above mounds of grassy, gray-green foliage. Dianthus 'Frosty Fire' is an evergreen perennial Pinks that blooms in spring with repeat blooms, if deadheaded.

Dianthus 'Frosty Fire' prefers full sun and slightly alkaline soil that is drier in winter. It is tolerant of drought and coastal conditions.

Care and Growing Tips

When the blooms are all or mostly spent, trim the plant back by about 1/3 of its size. This will refresh the foliage and encourage rebloom.

All orders placed now will be held until late August/early September when our fall shipping season begins. We stop shipping plants every summer due to the high temperatures. We appreciate your patience!

If you'd like to receive your order before our fall season, you can leave a note for us on the Cart page before you reach checkout. Please note that we will have to wait for a window of cooler temperatures to ship. We cannot promise any particular shipping date during the summer.

All ship times are subject to change if extreme weather conditions are present here at the nursery or at the shipping destination.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.
