Chrysogonum 'Pierre' Goldenstar, or Green and Gold, is a clump forming perennial that slowly spreads to make a nice ground cover. It has yellow, star-shaped blooms over soft green foliage. A cultivar of C. virginianum, Chrysogonum 'Pierre' was selected for its is low-growing form and its long bloom season, often flowering through the summer in cooler regions.
Chrysogonum 'Pierre' is easily grown in moderately fertile soil in a woodland setting. It can also take some morning sun. A drought tolerant perennial, Chrysogonum virginianum 'Pierre' is semi-evergreen and great for dry shade. Goldenstar is native to the East Coast and Gulf states.
