Baptisia sphaerocarpa has spikes of vivid yellow, pea-like flowers over leathery yellow green foliage. Also referred to as False Indigo, this perennial is distinguished by its round seed pods. Baptisia sphaerocarpa is native to the southern central United States. False Indigo is easily grown in low fertility soil, including clay and dry soil. This native perennial's root system resents disturbance once established.
