Description

Aquilegia 'Songbird Dove' has tall stems of beautiful large 3" pure white, long spurred flowers. Aquilegia 'Songbird Dove', also known as Columbine, blooms mid-spring to early summer.

Aquilegia are old-fashioned perennial favorites for shade and woodland gardens with moist, well-drained soil, but will also grow in sun with sufficient moisture. Aquilegia 'Songbird Dove' is great for cutting. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds and deer resistant.

Care and Growing Tips

For a tidy appearance, deadhead after blooming (cut each flower stem down to the rest of the foliage). The foliage may discolor in the heat or occasionally attract leaf miners. Trim off any affected foliage to encourage new growth.
This is a tough perennial that needs only occasional maintenance. It prefers moist, well-draining soil, but will tolerate drought once established.
