Description

Agastache 'Black Adder' has smoky-lilac flowers that open from dark purple buds. Its deep green foliage is very fragrant. Erect, bushy plants bear spikes of showy tubular flowers over a long season. Also called Hummingbird Mint, Agastache 'Black Adder' does not require staking as long as the soil is not too rich. Its lush spikes of purple blooms make Agastache 'Black Adder' the butterflies' favorite hummingbird mint in our nursery.

Agastache prefer full sun and require well-drained soil. Established plants are tolerant of drought conditions. Suitable for an herb garden or mixed border, they are highly attractive to pollinators, hummingbirds, and butterflies. Deer resistant.

Care and Growing Tips

Agastache prefers well-drained, average to poor soils, and does not need fertilizing. Overly fertile soil will cause the plants to flop over. A mild soil additive like compost is acceptable.
These plants respond well to cutting back and regrow quickly. For winter hardiness allow stems to remain until new growth appears in spring.

We ship via UPS & USPS (the Post Office), and their ship rates are automatically generated through our site. We do not profit on shipping costs. We are working with these providers to get our customers the best rates possible.

All ship times are subject to change if extreme weather conditions are present here at the nursery or at the shipping destination.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.

We are currently not able to ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and outside of the US.
