Ruelllia humilis is a petunia-like flower from the Southeast United States that produces soft lavender blooms on slender, hairy brown stems. Creating clumps of rounded blue-green leaves, Ruellia humilis typically blooms from late spring to mid fall when grown in full sun or partial shade.

Ruellia humilis prefers dry to medium moist soil and is adaptable to a wide range of environments, making it a perfect for rock or native plant gardens while remaining drought tolerant. Its showy appearance and long blooming season make Ruellia humilis attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds and will readily self-sow once it has established itself.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.
