Description

One of our more uncommon varieties, Orostachys iwarenge is a curious plant that forms a rosette of gray succulent leaves and tiny stems with similar offsets. The main plant gradually expands upward into towers (shaped like dunce caps) with terminal white blooms. After blooming the main plant of Orostachys iwarenge dies, leaving the offsets that surround it to replace it. The plants may die back in winter but will return in spring. This is a cute perennial for containers, walls, fairy gardens and ground covers.

Native to Asia, Chinese Dunce Caps have a life cycle similar to Hens and Chicks (Semper vivum).

Orostachys iwarenge prefers full sun to light shade and poor, well-drained soil. It may self-sow if the main plant is not removed before seed set.

We ship via UPS or USPS (the Post Office), and their ship rates are automatically generated through our site. We do not profit on shipping costs. We are working with these providers to get our customers the best rates possible.

All ship times are subject to change if extreme weather conditions are present here at the nursery or at the shipping destination.

Please note: Depending on the time of year, the foliage of the plants may be trimmed to fit into our shipping boxes. This could delay the flowering of the plant, but many perennials actually benefit from being cut back.

We are currently not able to ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and outside of the US.
