Trifolium repens 'Atropurpureum' is a vigorous plant with reddish-bronze, 3-4 leaf clover leaves edged in green. White pom-pom flowers are produced in summer. A stem-rooting ground cover, it is valuable for erosion control on slopes. It can be invasive. Trifolium repens 'Atropurpeum' may be evergreen in southern parts of range.
Trifolium 'Atropurpureum' prefers sun to light shade with moist, well-draining soil and is intolerant of drought. It can tolerate moderate food traffic. Space on 8" centers.
