Stokesia laevis 'Elf' is a dwarf, mounding perennial with lovely lavender blue, aster-like blooms. Stokesia 'Elf' typically blooms from midsummer to early fall. Deadheading will prolong the bloom season. The large flowers are long lasting and nice for cutting. It is a nice size for containers.
Stokesia laevis, also known as Stoke's Aster, is native to the southeastern coastal plain of the United States from Louisiana to North Carolina. This perennial is typically found in wetlands, bottomland, wet pinewoods, savannas and ditches that are drier during the winter.
Stokesia laevis 'Elf' prefers full sun and average to wet, but well-drained soil. It does not tolerate winter wet.
