Lamium maculatum 'Orchid Frost' has clusters of orchid pink skullcap blooms on spreading mounds of heart-shaped, scalloped foliage that is silver with a deep green edge. 'Orchid Frost' blooms heavily in mid spring and continues sporadically summer to fall. An evergreen, it is a good ground cover whose stems root into the ground where they touch.
Lamium maculatum 'Orchid Frost' prefers partial to full shade and well-drained, average to moist soil. Good drainage is essential. It is drought tolerant once established. A cool season perennial, it does not like heat and humidity. It looks its best early in the season, but 'Orchid Frost' will maintain a decent presence through the summer. It may be cut back fairly hard if foliage becomes unsightly and it will reflush.
