Lamiastrum galeobdolon 'Florentinum' is a fast-growing, semi-evergreen trailing plant with silver foliage edged in green and gently scalloped. Short upright stems have whorls of hooded, soft yellow flowers in summer. Known as Yellow Archangel and also sometimes called weasel-snout, its foliage is aromatic when crushed.
This perennial is one of the few plants that will grow in dry areas under trees. Yellow Archangel can spread via stolons or stem fragments and is good ground cover for problematic dry areas. Lamiastrum 'Florentinum' is also attractive trailing over the edges of a container.
Lamiastrum 'Florentinum' prefers partial to full shade and dry to average soil. Use caution when siting this plant as it is a vigorous spreader that can out-compete native plants and will grow over tree stumps and other obstacles.
