Isotoma fluvatilis, or Blue Star Creeper, is a mat forming ground cover with tiny leaves and small, blue star-shaped flowers from May through fall. Blue Star Creeper is a very flat growing perennial that spreads via underground rhizomes to create a semi-evergreen ground cover. Isotoma fluviatilis may be invasive! Blue Star is great between stepping stones and in confined areas.
Isotoma fluvatilis prefers light shade to part sun and moist to wet, well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant but will go dormant if kept too dry. Blue Star Creeper will tolerate heavy foot traffic. Space on 12" centers.
