Isotoma fluvatilis, or Blue Star Creeper, is a mat forming ground cover with tiny leaves and small, blue star-shaped flowers from May through fall. Blue Star Creeper is a very flat growing perennial that spreads via underground rhizomes to create a semi-evergreen ground cover. Isotoma fluviatilis may be invasive! Blue Star is great between stepping stones.
Isotoma fluvatilis prefers light shade to part sun and moist to wet, well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant but will go dormant if kept too dry. Blue Star Creeper will tolerate heavy foot traffic. Space on 12" centers.
