Iberis sempervirens 'Little Gem' has bright white flowers with purple centers that cover low mounding foliage in mid to late spring. Heat and humidity tolerance make Iberis 'Little Gem' a great addition to southern perennial gardens. Iberis 'Little Gem' also makes a nice evergreen edger and works well when used in rock gardens or even containers.
Also known as Candytuft, Iberis sempervirens prefers full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. It resents "wet feet." To maintain the best form, cut this plant back hard every other year after it blooms to encourage new growth to fill in.
