Epimedium x veriscolor ‘Sulphureum’ features foliage with variegated green and brown leaves supporting small bundles of short-spurred yellow flowers. Commonly referred to as “Barrenwort”, ‘Sulphureum’ has heart shaped leaves that form in large clumps and are easily grown in full to partial shade.
Epimedium ‘Sulphureum’ spreads out vigorously and is drought tolerant once established, making it perfect for groundcover or growing beneath trees. ‘Sulphureum’ remains evergreen in cooler climates and does best in loose, well drained soils, and is deer resistant. Cut back in fall before its bloom time for most vibrant flower display.
