Corydalis cheilanthifolia has sulfur yellow, tubular flowers over clumps of evergreen, ferny blue-green foliage, making it a nice fern substitute. Long blooming, Corydalis cheilanthifolia has distinctive seed pods that pop open and will self sow readily.
Corydalis cheilanthifolia, also known as False or Fern Leaf Bleeding Heart, prefers part shade and well-drained, moist soil. This perennial is somewhat drought tolerant. Suitable as a ground cover.
